Join the Waterfront School Foundation (WSF) for coffee in the WFM Art Room after morning drop-off on Monday, January 27 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.!
This is a great opportunity to learn about the impactful work WSF is doing, meet and mingle with our board members, and get involved in shaping the future of our community.
In addition to socializing, the meeting will serve as our Annual Members Meeting where we'll review plans for the Spring 2025 semester, share our financials, and gather your ideas and feedback on upcoming events and initiatives.
Members are strongly encouraged to attend.

How to Give $3K to Charity & Only Spend $1K
Join us for a WSF Coffee Talk following morning drop off focusing on maximizing your charitable impact. Presented by Aseem Garg & Kamel Tarazi of Ahara Advisors, the information session will focus on how to:
Use Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) to grow and manage charitable giving.
Donate appreciated stock to avoid capital gains taxes and increase giving power.
These methods can help families significantly increase their charitable impact with less personal financial outlay, perfect for the spirit of Giving Tuesday.

The Waterfront School Foundation is Waterfront Montessori’s official volunteer non-profit parent group. Since its inception in 2012, the foundation has focused on enriching the educational experiences of Waterfront Montessori students.
The organization focuses on:
Contributing to the Quiver Farms Chick Hatching Program, Insect Lifecycle Program with Butterfly and Ladybugs lifecycles, and bringing Living Farm to the school playground
Supporting the Annual School Musical and the STEM Fair
Sponsoring afterschool activities for scholarship students
Organizing Community and Parent Events such as the Fall Harvest Festival, Scavenger Hunt, Ice Skating, etc.
Partnering with the Office of Community Outreach for Positive Discipline Workshops
Facilitating Community Service Opportunities for Students

Holiday Staff & Faculty Appreciation
Holiday Staff & Faculty Appreciation
As the holiday season approaches, we have a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and express our gratitude to the incredible staff and faculty who make Waterfront Montessori a special place for our children.
Your generous contributions will be pooled to create gift cards that will be presented to each staff and faculty member at the end of year holiday luncheon provided by the Waterfront School Foundation. WSF will present the gift cards with the names of all contributing families included in the note thanking our staff and faculty members.
Your participation in this initiative is entirely voluntary. Please make your contributions by Wednesday, December 11th. Let's show our gratitude and make this holiday season a memorable one for the amazing individuals who are vital to our children's growth and learning.

WSF Halloween Party
Get ready for a spooktacular time at the WSF Halloween Celebration!
Join us for a family-friendly event filled with music, dancing, and Halloween-inspired potluck treats. This is the perfect way to kick off your Halloween festivities, especially for younger children or families looking for a fun gathering before neighborhood trick-or-treating begins.
We will have music and dancing by our own Mr. Richie and a special "Thriller" dance performance by the Kindergarten through 8th grade students choreographed by Ms. Cristina.
There will be no afterschool activities that day and school is closed on November 1 for Diwali. So come join in the fun!

The Details
Activities? Music, dancing, games (corn hole, hula hoops, yard Jenga), photo booth with props, and a special "Thriller" dance performance by the Kindergarten through 8th grade students!
Costumes? Optional but encouraged!
Food? This is a potluck-style event. Parents are encouraged to contribute food items (nut-free!).

Tickets? Bracelets can be purchased through Oct 29th here. The bracelets (tickets) will be sent home in Friday folders.
Door Tickets? Limited door tickets may be available for an upcharge, but we cannot guarantee availability.
What if it rains? In the event of inclement weather, the event will be canceled, and ticket purchases will be considered a donation to the Waterfront School Foundation (WSF).
Can my child change into their costume at school? Yes, the art room will be available for parents and children to change into costumes from 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM. Carry your belongings to the playground to store them there during the event.
What about Extended Day pickup? Aftercare is still available on October 31st. If Extended Day parents cannot pick up their child by 4:30 PM, alternate pick-up arrangements can be made with a friend (with a note from the parent and the friend's ID). This must be communicated with the school in advance. Please email parents@waterfontmontessori.com to ensure arrangements can be made.
How can I get involved? Volunteers are needed to help with setup, table decorating, and cleanup. Email us at waterfront.school.foundation@gmail.com if you'd like to lend a hand.

Family Yoga Fun
Saturday Family Yoga with Ms. Janani
Join us for Family Yoga Hour at the WFM Playground on Saturday at 10:30 AM, led by our talented WFM teacher and certified yoga practitioner, Ms. Janani. This fun and engaging session is perfect for both kids and adults. Don’t forget to bring your own yoga mat, and enjoy complimentary water provided on-site. Be sure to purchase your tickets in advance. We look forward to seeing you there for a mindful yoga experience!

About Ms. Janani
In addition to being a WFM teacher, Ms. Janani is a certified Yoga practitioner who seeks to make Yoga joyful and accessible to all. She has completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training from the Hudson Yoga Project Hoboken and has been sharing her practice with vast audiences of varied age groups and physical requirements. Her sessions are designed to offer a balance between Vinyasa yoga, a smooth flow of poses that follow the breath and Yin Yoga, a slow-paced yoga flow, exploring each pose in its entirety. She seeks to make Yoga a wholesome experience focused on mindfulness.
Ms. Janani also leads afterschool classes at WFM. Please refer to ParentSquare to register for Yoga for Primary (Tuesday afternoons) and for Upper School students (Thursday afternoons). Her classes focus on cultivate focus and self-confidence while exploring physical strength, balance and flexibility.

FAMILy bowling: An Evening of Strikes & SUPPORT
Join us for our family bowling event at Hudson Lanes in Jersey City to support our upcoming WFM musical, enjoy some friendly competition on the lanes and mingle with other families!
$25 per person
Ticket price includes entrance to the venue, bowling shoes rental and 2 hours of bowling
Children under 3 years of age do not need a ticket.
This event is open to all WFM families and alumni!
As this is a family event and not a drop-off event, students and young children must be accompanied by a parent or a caregiver.
Parking for free and food/drinks for purchase are available at the venue
Winter Family Skate Night 2024
SKATING - PIZZA - HOT CHOCOLATE
Join us for our winter event, Ice Skating in our own private skating rink at Newport Skates! We encourage younger friends to come on the earlier end of the event to space out the number of people on the ice at once.
$35 per person *($20 for Non-skaters)

This event is open to all WFM families and alumni!
This is a family event, not a drop-off event. Students and young children on the ice rink must be accompanied by a parent or a caregiver.
