Dear Waterfront Community,

As another wonderful school year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to celebrate all that we accomplished together. From community events and enrichment programs to service projects and student experiences, this year was filled with opportunities to connect, grow, and make a positive impact.

None of this would have been possible without the support of our members, volunteers, sponsors, teachers, staff, and families. Your generosity, enthusiasm, and willingness to get involved helped strengthen our community and create meaningful experiences for students throughout the year.

As we look back on the memories we've made, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who contributed to making this such a successful year.

One of the Foundation’s core goals is bringing families together and creating opportunities for connection outside the classroom. Throughout the year, we hosted a wide variety of community events, including numerous Parent Coffees and Teas, Family Yoga, Lower School Grit and Playground Playdates, Pickleball at PB Club, Family Bowling, two Pancake Breakfasts, our Halloween Party, Members Night Out, Movie Night, and our Last Day of School Hangout. Whether families joined us for a cup of coffee, a game of pickleball, a morning of pancakes, or an evening of celebration, these events provided meaningful opportunities to build friendships, strengthen connections, and foster the sense of community that makes Waterfront Schools such a special place.

The Foundation continued its commitment to enhancing student learning by supporting experiences that extend beyond the traditional classroom. Through our Book Fairs and STEM Book Fair, we helped foster a love of reading while generating over $1,000 in sales and providing more than $500 in books for classrooms and teacher wish lists.

In addition, the Foundation sponsored the Quiver Farm Chick Hatching Experience for Upper School students. Through this immersive program, fertilized eggs and an incubator were brought into the classroom, allowing students to observe the incubation process, witness chicks hatching firsthand, and care for them during their first days of life. This hands-on experience brought science to life and provided students with a memorable opportunity to explore biology, responsibility, and the natural world.

By supporting programs like these, the Foundation helps create meaningful learning experiences that spark curiosity, encourage discovery, and enrich students’ educational journeys.

The Foundation is committed to helping students explore their interests, develop new skills, and create lasting memories beyond the classroom. This year, we supported a variety of opportunities that allowed students to grow through the arts, enrichment, leadership, and extracurricular activities.

One of our largest initiatives each year is the annual Spring Musical. Through a combination of Foundation funding and generous family sponsorships, WSF helped make this year's production of The Addams Family possible by supporting theater rental, costumes, set construction materials, production expenses, and other essential resources. The musical brought together students, families, volunteers, sponsors, teachers, and community members for a memorable performance. Students gained valuable experience in teamwork, confidence-building, public speaking, problem-solving, and the performing arts.

The Foundation also continued its commitment to educational equity by providing scholarship support for afterschool programs. During both the fall and spring semester alone, WSF enabled students to pursue interests ranging from academics & STEM to the arts.

In addition, WSF proudly supported several Middle School Micro Economy initiatives, helping students develop entrepreneurial, financial, and leadership skills through hands-on projects. These included student-led sweatshirt and t-shirt designs, Pizza Fridays, teacher snacks, hot cocoa mug sales, candle making and other fundraising activities that gave students real-world experience in planning, budgeting, marketing, and community engagement.

Our teachers and staff are at the heart of the Waterfront experience, and we are grateful for the dedication, care, and passion they bring to our students each and every day.

Throughout the year, the Foundation partnered with families to recognize and celebrate the incredible individuals who make our school community so special. From holiday appreciation initiatives and staff luncheons to Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week celebrations, a heartfelt student appreciation video, and an end-of-year luncheon, we looked for meaningful ways to express our gratitude and support.

While these gestures are small compared to the impact our teachers and staff have on our children, they reflect our community’s deep appreciation for the countless ways our educators enrich the lives of students every day
